The Bachelors Program in Islamic Studies is based on Al Qur’an and the authentic Sunnah. Upon completion of this program, Graduates will have obtained vast knowledge of Islamic Sciences. This program will also serve as the strong foundation which will enable our Graduates to incorporate and build upon their degree in more specialized fields of studies

The Masters in Islamic Studies Program will offer advanced learning in Islamic Studies where students work extremely hard and meticulously to achieve an elevated level of understanding and comprehension in the Islamic Sciences.

Students can utilize their high level of Islamic knowledge in a variety of professional platforms and to contribute at a highly respectable level in their communities.

Masters in Islamic Studies

Total credit hours: 39 (30 coursework plus 9 credit hours for Thesis
Passing grade: 80 (b-) Minimum Completion: 1 1/2 years total program cost: approximately $13,000.00
Minimum requirements: Bachelors in Islamic Studies or BACHELOR’S Degree plus take entrance exams to see if qualified.

This Program is designed to develop graduates with superior skill sets in the administrative and Educator fields based on the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The specialized focus on Islamic Studies that is well incorporated into the Masters Program gives our Students an advantage edge in the Global Education Market.

With these 3 strong core foundations mastered, our graduates can be highly effective Instructors, Administrative leaders & Managers throughout the vast field of Education.  Our graduates will have garnered the knowledge to expertly design & develop high performance Islamic curriculum that can be taught effectively at all levels.

Graduates will also be well prepared for successful advising on planning committees and Boards of Education to promote the Islamic Studies programs into School systems that lack this area of concentration or improve their current curriculum with thoughtful development planning.

The Islamic Studies Doctorate Program at American Open University is designed to provide students with a deep and advanced understanding in the critical thinking and analysis in Islamic Studies.  Students will be introduced to both traditional and contemporary sources throughout their course of study and will further elevate and develop their skills in methods of research based on the Holy Qur’an and the teaching of the Prophet (peace be upon him).

In addition to the primary program of study, students will also be given the opportunity to narrow their focus of interest.  After completing the core requirements of this program, students will then be required to choose one of the following tracks of study to specialize in: Jurisprudence, Theology, Qur’an and Hadith.

Doctorate in Islamic Studies

Total credit Hours: 85 (50 coursework plus 35 credit hours dissertation research
Passing grade: 85 (B+) minimum completion: 2 1/2 Years not exceeding 7 years Total
Program cost: approximately $26,000.00
Minimum requirements: MASTER’S degree in Islamic studies or Master’s degree plus take entrance exams to see if qualified.
