The Bachelors Program in Islamic Studies is based on Al Qur’an and the authentic Sunnah. Upon completion of this program, Graduates will have obtained vast knowledge of Islamic Sciences. This program will also serve as the strong foundation which will enable our Graduates to incorporate and build upon their degree in more specialized fields of studies

The Islamic Studies Doctorate Program at American Open University is designed to provide students with a deep and advanced understanding in the critical thinking and analysis in Islamic Studies. Students will be introduced to both traditional and contemporary sources throughout their course of study and will further elevate and develop their skills in methods of research based on the Holy Qur’an and the teaching of the Prophet (peace be upon him).
In addition to the primary program of study, students will also be given the opportunity to narrow their focus of interest. After completing the core requirements of this program, students will then be required to choose one of the following tracks of study to specialize in: Jurisprudence, Theology, Qur’an and Hadith.

Doctorate in Islamic Studies
Total credit Hours: 85 (50 coursework plus 35 credit hours dissertation research
Passing grade: 85 (B+) minimum completion: 2 1/2 Years not exceeding 7 years Total
Program cost: approximately $26,000.00
